Factory Test Engineer
Responsible for the technical aspects of testing products in the factory, including the definition, planning, execution, analysis, and conclusion of testing processes. Troubleshoot issues, analyze test failures and non-conformities, and provide expertise on testing procedures, equipment, and standards. Engage regularly with customers, technical experts, engineers, and manufacturing staff to enhance safety, efficiency, and accuracy while driving continuous improvements in Test Room performance.
Main Accountabilities
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure that all testing operations comply with applicable industry international regulations (IEC, IEEE, CSA), company policies, BU test procedures, as well as ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 27001 standards.
HSE Compliance
Ensure that all testing activities adhere to company health and safety regulations.
Prioritize and actively promote workplace safety by implementing best practices and fostering a culture of safety among team members.
Collaborate closely with HE teams to conduct regular safety assessments and enhance safety awareness.

Test Planning and Setup
Collaborate with engineering, customers, and project teams to define and understand testing requirements, utilizing client inputs to plan and sequence tests effectively. Determine system limitations and the preferred growth path as the business expands and technology and equipment improve.
Product Testing (including Test Data Management)
Oversee and/or execute comprehensive test procedures to ensure products meet specifications, coordinating all testing activities from preparation to completion.
Ensure smooth operations by responding to changes and resolving setup challenges.
Oversee the collection, recording, and secure storage of test data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards. Analyze data to generate internal and external reports.
Test Equipment Management
Ensure the test equipment is used correctly and for its intended purpose by authorized personnel. Prevent misuse or damage. Ensure the equipment is available for maintenance and calibration to the responsible teams or external vendors at the required intervals.
Performance Monitoring
Report test results and operational metrics promptly, maintaining accurate documentation for transparency and decision-making. Ensure availability of data to drive process improvements and ensure test accuracy and reliability.
Failure Analysis
Contribute comprehensive failure analyses to identify root causes of product issues, employing systematic evaluation methods. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and improve product reliability.
Continuous Improvement
Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing testing processes and performance metrics to identify areas for enhancement. Collaborate with team members to implement innovative solutions that increase efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Quality Management System (QMS)
Follow Factory Quality Management System (QMS).
Team Guidance and Training
Provide guidance and training to team members on testing protocols, applicable international testing standards, and best practices, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning. Support the development of skills and competencies within the team to enhance overall testing performance.
Key Tasks
Follow quality inspection cards
Implement health and safety procedures in testing activities
Collaborate with customers and project teams to define testing requirements
Incorporate new system components or upgrades when the business requires
Design and coordinate special tests from preparation to completion to meet atypical specifications.
Provide the customer with information in response to technical inquiries.
Collect and verify the accuracy and reliability of test results
Prepare test results and certified test reports
Get involved in failure analyses to identify root causes
Analyze testing processes for continuous improvement
Develop and implement corrective actions for testing process issues
Guide and mentor team members in best practices
Collaborate with design and production teams for improvements
Ensure tidiness and support 5S program in the Test Room
Requirements
US Citizenship is required
Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a testing or quality control role within a manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of testing protocols, quality standards, and regulatory compliance (e.g., IEC, IEEE, ISO 17025, ISO 9001, ISO 45001).
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools to evaluate test results and performance metrics
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct thorough failure analyses and implement corrective actions.
Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide training and guidance
