We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Extravehicular Activity (EVA) Engineer to join our innovative Engineering Department. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in the design, development, testing, and operational support of EVA systems for current and future space missions. This position demands a keen understanding of human factors, space environment challenges, and complex system integration, contributing directly to the safety and success of human spaceflight.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related technical field. Demonstrated experience in the design, development, or testing of complex human-rated systems, preferably within aerospace or a related high-reliability industry. Strong understanding of human physiology and biomechanics in extreme environments. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) for design and analysis. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to technical challenges. Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment and adapt to evolving priorities.

Responsibilities

Design and develop EVA suits and associated life support systems, ensuring compliance with stringent safety and performance requirements. Conduct comprehensive analysis and testing of EVA hardware, including thermal vacuum, ergonomic, and operational assessments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including astronauts, flight controllers, and training specialists to refine EVA procedures and operational concepts. Provide technical expertise and real-time support during EVA simulations and on-orbit operations. Generate detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and operational manuals. Identify and mitigate risks associated with EVA systems, proposing innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.

Qualifications

Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline. Experience with life support systems, pressure garment design, or human-system integration for space applications. Familiarity with NASA standards and industry best practices for space system development and certification. Previous involvement in a full product life cycle, from conceptualization to operational support.
