Equipment Engineer (Metrology or Dry Etch) – Permanent – Newport Beach, CA – Pay ($85K-$110K)
The final salary or hourly wage, as applicable, paid to each candidate/applicant for this position is ultimately dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s/applicant’s qualifications, skills, and level of experience as well as the geographical location of the position.

Our client is seeking a Equipment Engineer (Metrology or Dry Etch) in Newport Beach, CA.
Role Description
Job Responsibilities – What will the candidate be doing in the job? Day to Day? Team Size? Education Required? What percentage of time is dedicated to each responsibility? i.e. 10% etc.
You will be responsible for working in a world class Equipment Engineering organization with talented group of Equipment Engineers, Technicians, and technical supportive management. An organization that focuses on growth, talent development, and continuous improvement. You will be responsible to support area technicians, sustain and optimize tools and improve Semiconductor Equipment performance and reliability in the Photo/Metrology Area. You will lead all maintenance activities scheduled and unscheduled on assigned equipment. Provide leadership, guidance and assistance to area technicians, drive cost savings projects, generate and execute on time improvement projects on assigned equipment. Work with Process, Production, Procurement, and Facility groups.

You can optimize preventive maintenance procedures and provide clear instructions and documentation to technicians.
You can work with equipment vendors or second source companies to modify parts and improve Equipment performance.
You can identify opportunities for reducing maintenance and operating costs and provide cost studies for preventive maintenance activities.
You can optimize spare parts inventory and reduce spares cost.
You can lead the process of evaluating new equipment or software and make recommendations to meet companies’ business objectives.
You can perform source inspections at the vendor site as required, and work with facilities and the vendor to meet installation schedules.
You can work with the Process Engineering group on identifying opportunities to improve yield, and maintaining equipment process parameters within specifications.
You can identify and implement sustaining capital upgrades that can increase tool performance, with associated ROI justification.
You can work with IE, Production, and Process groups on identifying opportunities to improve cycle time.
You can provide a monthly report summarizing all maintenance and project activities.
You can work with a high level of autonomy according to managerial priorities.
You can comply with all ISO requirements and be able to develop new ISO procedures as needed.
You have the ability to travel to domestic and international sites to provide support as needed.
You can meet all established goals and metrics by area manager, and deliver commitments on time.
You can have daily interactions with area manager, technicians, other groups, and equipment vendors.
You can work under minimum supervision. Independently develops solutions, and interacts with area manager on implementation, and follows escalation plans.
You can work in a very dynamic work environment with changing priorities and high urgency to respond without any delay.
You can work in a FAB clean-room environment with repetitive motion and lifting load up to 50 pounds. (For load higher than 50 pounds help from other technicians and follow safety procedures will be required.)
Job Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering discipline or equivalent work experience.
2 - 5 years of experience supporting and maintaining Semiconductor Equipment, with strong problem solving, and troubleshooting skills to a component level on KLA F5/F5x, KLA SP1, AMAT Verity SEM, AMAT NanoSEMand/or ASML PAS5500 I-line/DUV systems Experience on KLA SP1, Surfscan 6400/6420, RS-75/RS-100 is a plus.
In depth knowledge of equipment functionality, subcomponents, control circuit, and its process parameters is required.
Thorough knowledge of measurement instrumentations, electro-mechanical devices, vacuum systems, Robotics/Sensors, and strong engineering/Technology skills is a must.
Must have the ability to conduct data and statistical analysis to evaluate equipment performance.
Strong computer skills are required.

Must have between 3 – 5 years working as an Equipment Engineer in Semiconductor industry
Must have experience with metrology equipment’s OR Dry Etch
Must be on site 5 days a week
