Position Overview
The Equipment Engineer provides vital technical support to the production floor, managing the readiness and precision of all automated machinery and testing stations. This position combines high-level engineering analysis with hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting to resolve complex equipment failures rapidly. From managing calibration schedules to overseeing spare parts inventory, the Equipment Engineer ensures that the facility's technical assets are always audit-ready and capable of high-precision manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Lead the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of the facility’s entire equipment portfolio, ranging from complex automated lines to manual machines and hand-operated tools.
Develop and execute a comprehensive preventative maintenance program tailored to the specific needs of both high-tech automation and robust manual machinery.
Serve as the lead technical expert for resolving electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues across all machine types.
Manage and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and automated interfaces while ensuring manual overrides and controls are fully functional.
Ensure all automated diagnostic testers and manual measurement gauges are calibrated to traceable standards to maintain 100% data integrity.
Monitor and optimize machine performance to ensure both automated sequences and manual processes meet tight tolerances and high-yield targets.
Manage a strategic inventory of critical components, balancing electronic automation parts with mechanical wear-parts for manual machinery.
Specify and manage the utility requirements (power, air, fluids) for all equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation within the facility infrastructure.
Ensure all maintenance logs, repair histories, and calibration certificates are meticulously organized to support ISO 9001 and safety audits.
Identify opportunities to optimize manual workflows or integrate automated controls into existing machinery to enhance safety, precision, and throughput.
Execute specialized engineering projects, equipment modifications, and technical assignments as directed by leadership to support facility-wide safety, reliability, and production goals.
Manage the operation and maintenance of onsite 3D printing equipment to design and produce custom assembly jigs, fixtures, and temporary replacement parts to reduce lead times and production costs.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics.
Minimum of 3+ years of direct experience in equipment engineering or reliability role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong communication skills in English and Mandarin (both written and verbal) is a plus.
A floor-first engineering mindset, with the physical ability and willingness to work directly on machinery in a shop-floor environment.
Proven experience troubleshooting and modifying PLC-based systems (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and HMI interfaces.
Comprehensive understanding of mechanical assemblies, including pneumatics, hydraulics, power transmission, and precision alignment for manual machinery.
Demonstrated experience maintaining and calibrating automated testing equipment and electronic diagnostic systems.
Proven track record of developing and implementing Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance schedules for a diverse asset base.
Proficiency in AutoCAD or SolidWorks to create or update machine layouts, component designs, and technical documentation.
Experience overseeing equipment Capital Expenditure projects, including vendor selection, installation, and Site Acceptance Testing.
