About the Team: Join a dynamic and hands-on engineering team at ZF Axle Drives in Marysville, MI. The team currently includes eight Manufacturing Engineers within the Gear Department. This group plays a critical role in supporting production through tooling procurement, process capability studies, gage calibration, and direct collaboration with vendors and maintenance. With 80% of their time spent on the shop floor, the team thrives on solving real-time challenges and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What you can look forward to as an Engineering Analyst:
Work closely with Supplier Quality Engineers, Auditors, Process Engineers, Maintenance Employees, Planners, Logistics, etc. to define corrective actions and support continuous improvement efforts.
Participate in simultaneous engineering activities for new projects (e.g., APQP, QR83).
Generate, prepare, and present regular reports to internal and external stakeholders.
Interpret bevel gear prints including dimensions, tolerances, specifications and standards.
Investigate and resolve issues involving non conforming bevel gear sets from vehicle testing, NVH or customer returns.
Lead 8D investigations or similar corrective action processes stemming from product/process audits, internal quality investigations, or customer complaints.
Design, optimize, and develop blades using KIMOS, GEMs, Meteor, Meteorite, and all equipment on cutter grind department. Develop grinding and lapping summary with satisfactory NVH and acoustic behavior.
Lead troubleshooting methods and plan when equipment presents with quality or performance issues.
Your profile as an Engineering Analyst:
Bachelor’s degree and/or 4+ years of professional engineering/analysis experience in one or more of the following: Test Engineering/Analysis, Gear Manufacturing Analysis/Planning, Product Design/Development, Program/Launch Management.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D and 3D for creating drawings.
5 years of experience within bevel gear manufacturing required.
Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office, SPC, DoE, and basic noise testing.
Knowledgeable in Mistake Proofing, Problem Solving Techniques, APQP, SPC, noise test software, and equipment specific production software.
