Danfoss Power Solutions is seeking a Product Engineer to join our Engineering team in Brooklyn, Ohio.
This position is responsible for supporting the development, testing, and continuous improvement of industrial clutch and brake products. Reporting within the Engineering organization, the Product Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive new product development, resolve product performance issues, and support ongoing product enhancements that improve quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
What You’ll Be Doing
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Create and maintain mechanical designs, engineering drawings, and product documentation for industrial clutch and brake products.
Perform engineering calculations, tolerance stack-up analyses, and design verification activities for new product development and product changes.
Develop and execute verification and validation test plans, analyze engineering data, prepare technical reports, and present findings to internal stakeholders and customers.
Manage engineering change processes, maintain product design control, and ensure accurate and complete technical documentation.
Investigate and resolve product performance issues using structured problem-solving methodologies, including root cause analysis and 8D processes.
Provide technical support and collaborate with internal teams including Operations, Quality, Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, and Service, as well as external customers and suppliers.
Lead and execute engineering projects focused on cost reduction, supplier qualification, process improvements, product quality enhancements, reliability improvements, and new feature development.
What We're Looking For
Required (Basic) Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of education and relevant engineering experience.
3 to 5 years of product engineering, design engineering, or test engineering experience.
Experience performing engineering analysis, validation testing, and technical problem solving.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, clutch, and brake systems.
Understanding of machining, manufacturing processes, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Demonstrated experience supporting new product development initiatives.
Job Criteria
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly.
Ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
Self-directed and results-oriented with strong project management skills.
Ability to balance independent decision-making with seeking input from stakeholders when appropriate.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to engineering documentation and data quality.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting project objectives and deadlines.
