Job Overview
The Process Engineer (SCADA) is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and optimized operation of water and wastewater treatment facilities. The role focuses on process monitoring, troubleshooting, optimization, and digital performance tracking to maintain treated water quality, minimize operating costs, and ensure compliance with contractual and statutory requirements.
The incumbent will lead process stabilization, performance monitoring, mass balance analysis, chemical dosing optimization, membrane performance evaluation, and energy conservation initiatives across systems such as ETP, STP, WTP, RO, EDI, ZLD, and Ultra-Pure Water (UPW) facilities. Integration with SCADA/PLC systems for digital monitoring, reporting, and continuous improvement is a key expectation.
Responsibilities
Plant Process Operations
Monitor and optimize operations of:

Chemical dosing (coagulants, antiscalants, acids, caustic, nutrients)
Energy usage (blowers, pumps, compressors, membranes)
Improve process parameters such as DO, sludge age, aeration, and flux
Drive reduction in chemical consumption, power usage, sludge generation, and OPEX
Laboratory Data Review
Validate lab results (COD, BOD, MLSS, SDI, conductivity, TOC, silica, etc.)
Recommend process corrections based on analytical data
Root Cause Analysis & Troubleshooting
Investigate system issues across RO, biological, ZLD, and UPW systems
Perform RCA, FMEA, CAPA implementation
Resolve issues like membrane fouling, sludge bulking, scaling, and process instability
Chemical & Mass Balance Calculations
Prepare water, mass, salt, sludge, and chemical balances
Evaluate system efficiencies (recovery, rejection, specific consumption)
Generate improvement recommendations
Performance Guarantee Monitoring
Track KPIs: plant uptime, water quality, recovery, chemical & energy consumption
Monitor SLA compliance and prepare deviation reports
Process Improvement Projects
Identify and implement improvements in recovery, reuse, and efficiency
