Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Digital Engineer to support the design, development, and verification of safety-critical digital systems for advanced aerospace and defense applications. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing next-generation navigation, video, and cockpit systems while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle.
This position is ideal for an experienced digital design engineer with expertise in FPGA, ASIC, or SoC development, digital verification, and high-speed digital hardware design.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and verify high-speed digital hardware for safety-critical systems.
Perform FPGA, ASIC, and SoC implementation using VHDL and/or Verilog.
Execute digital verification activities to ensure compliance with system and hardware requirements.
Participate in hardware requirements definition, conceptual design, detailed design, integration, testing, and production transition.
Collaborate with systems, software, manufacturing, and program engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
Support design reviews, peer reviews, and technical documentation.
Contribute to Model-Based Engineering, DevSecOps, Agile, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Identify technical risks and develop effective engineering solutions.
Support development of next-generation aerospace and defense products.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or another STEM discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience; or
Master's degree with 3+ years of experience; or
Ph.D. with 1+ year of experience.
Experience with high-speed digital design and verification.
Hands-on experience with FPGA, ASIC, or SoC implementation.
Strong knowledge of VHDL and/or Verilog.
Experience with synthesis and timing closure.
Experience with hardware development processes, including requirements definition, design, verification, integration, and production support.
Active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.
U.S. Citizenship.
Ability to work onsite in Woodland Hills, California.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with SystemVerilog and UVM.
Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing experience.
Knowledge of computer architecture, including memory, interrupts, and bus interfaces.
Experience with MATLAB and Simulink.
Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing (DSP).
Experience with Model-Based Engineering (MBE).
Familiarity with safety-critical hardware standards such as DO-254.
Cost Account Management (CAM) experience or certification.
Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Experience working in Agile and DevSecOps environments.
