About Arm
At Arm, we build the foundational compute platforms that power billions of devices worldwide. From smartphones and autonomous vehicles to infrastructure and IoT, our technology develops the way people interact with the world around them.
Our mission is to enable innovation at scale. We build energy-efficient processor architectures and collaborate with a vast ecosystem to accelerate the development of secure, intelligent, and high-performance systems.
The Role
As an Emulation Engineer, you’ll be part of a distributed team crafting and deploying advanced emulation environments for Arm’s next-generation processor and SoC platforms. Your work will help bridge the gap between silicon development and real-world deployment — enabling earlier software development, improved system validation, and faster time-to-market.
You’ll collaborate with engineers across architecture, build, and verification to optimize complex emulation workflows and solve technical challenges that impact a wide range of compute solutions.
What You’ll Do
Develop and sustain scalable emulation environments for complex Arm IP and SoCs.
Collaborate with cross-functional groups to support system bring-up, debug, and feature validation on emulation platforms.
Support compilation, deployment, and debug flows for emulation systems such as Synopsys ZeBu, Cadence Palladium, and Siemens Strato.
Troubleshoot simulation/emulation mismatches and system-level test failures.
Collaborate closely with EDA vendors to introduce new capabilities, address tool issues, and contribute to future tool improvements.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
Solid understanding of emulation methodologies and flows.
3 - 6 years of experience with emulation platforms such as ZeBu, Palladium, or Strato.
Familiarity with RTL languages (SystemVerilog/Verilog) and UVM-based verification environments.
Hands-on experience in compiling and debugging large-scale builds on emulation platforms.
Proficiency in scripting (Python, Perl, or similar) to automate workflows and diagnostics.
Exposure to Arm-based architecture and embedded systems is a strong plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a distributed environment.
Desirable Skills
Strong debugging skills across emulation environments — including runtime issues, platform crashes, or mismatches between simulation and emulation.
Experience working alongside EDA vendors and internal IT groups to address toolchain issues, infrastructure constraints, or system-level malfunctions.
Familiarity with emulation support tasks such as job scheduling, resource management, and multi-user environment maintenance.
Proven ability to prioritize tool issues, isolate bugs with standalone test cases, and work with vendors for quick resolution and root-cause analysis.
Background in SoC bring-up and hardware/software co-design methodologies.
Exposure to hybrid emulation/simulation workflows and performance modeling.
Understanding of efficiency tuning techniques and performance analysis for large-scale emulation systems.

Hybrid Working at Arm
Arm’s approach to hybrid working is designed to create a working environment that supports both high performance and personal wellbeing. We believe in bringing people together face to face to enable us to work at pace, whilst recognizing the value of flexibility. Within that framework, we empower groups/teams to determine their own hybrid working patterns, depending on the work and the team’s needs. Details of what this means for each role will be shared upon application. In some cases, the flexibility we can offer is limited by local legal, regulatory, tax, or other considerations, and where this is the case, we will collaborate with you to find the best solution. Please talk to us to find out more about what this could look like for you.
Equal Opportunities at Arm
Arm is an equal opportunity employer, committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal opportunities are available to all applicants and colleagues. We are a diverse organization of dedicated and innovative individuals, and don’t discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
