I've partnered with a well funded AI Startup (Princeton spinout) who are developing advanced AI hardware and software systems designed to dramatically improve compute efficiency and performance for edge-to-cloud AI workloads. The company combines cutting-edge semiconductor innovation with deep system-level expertise to unlock scalable AI infrastructure.

We are seeking a Embedded Firmware Engineer to implement and integrate root-of-trust and secure boot capabilities for their Edge AI processors. This role focuses on making embedded security architecture real in firmware, enabling trusted boot flows and secure firmware delivery.

Responsibilities
Implement chain-of-trust across boot stages including bootloaders and runtime firmware
Integrate security subsystem IP into the firmware stack
Enable firmware authentication, encryption, and validation flows
Debug and validate security functionality during FPGA and silicon bring-up
Work closely with hardware, firmware, and architecture teams to ensure robust platform security

Qualifications
4+ years experience in embedded firmware development
Strong modern C++ programming skills
Experience implementing secure boot or root-of-trust systems
Familiarity with firmware boot processes and low-level system debugging
Experience working closely with hardware and architecture teams

Nice to Have
RISC-V or ARM platform experience
PCIe device firmware development
Experience integrating third-party security IP

Location: REMOTE - U.S, Canada, Germany, Norway
Compensation: $220K – $280K base + equity DOE
