Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Embedded Electronics Hardware Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will design, prototype, test, and manufacture reliable embedded systems. You will bridge the gap between schematic concepts and physical production, ensuring high-performance hardware execution.
Key Responsibilities
Circuit Design: Create detailed schematics and perform component selection for microcontrollers, power management circuits, and analog/digital interfaces.
PCB Layout: Design multi-layer PCBs optimizing for signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal management.
Prototyping & Bring-Up: Assemble initial prototype boards, perform initial power-on testing, and debug hardware failures using lab equipment.
Testing & Verification: Validate hardware functionality against design requirements and conduct environmental, reliability, and stress testing.
Component Sourcing: Evaluate and identify equivalent component alternatives to mitigate supply chain risks and maintain production timelines.
DFM/DFA Compliance: Design circuits adhering to Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) constraints.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive design documentation including Bill of Materials (BOM), hardware design files, and verification test reports.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with firmware engineers and mechanical designers to ensure seamless system integration.
Required Technical Skills
EDA Tools: Proficiency in major PCB design software such as Altium Designer, KiCad, OrCAD, or Eagle.
Hardware Architecture: Solid understanding of 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit microcontroller/microprocessor architectures (e.g., ARM Cortex-M, STM32, ESP32, PIC).
Communication Protocols: Practical experience implementing communication interfaces like I2C, SPI, UART, RS-485, CAN, and USB.
Power Electronics: Experience designing power supplies, including DC-DC buck/boost converters, LDOs, and battery management circuits.
Lab Equipment: Hands-on proficiency with digital oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, function generators, and SMD soldering tools.
Display & Peripherals: Experience interfacing displays (e.g., TFT LCDs over 8080/SPI interfaces, OLEDs) and sensing elements is highly preferred.
Component Knowledge: Deep understanding of electronics packaging footprints (such as SMT, BGA, and space-saving variants like X2SON).
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
Experience: 2 to 5 years of proven hands-on experience in electronics hardware design and development.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical mindset for debugging complex hardware anomalies and signal degradation issues.
Communication: Clear technical writing skills and ability to present design choices to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
