ABL Education LLP is an EdTech organisation working towards transforming schools into Future Ready Schools through Activity-Based Learning, STEM education, robotics, coding, innovation and hands-on learning.
We design and implement STEM and Innovation programmes across schools and develop robotics kits, STEM kits, coding platforms and advanced innovation projects that enable students to learn by building and experimenting.
Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on and innovative Embedded Developer who can work across embedded electronics, robotics, STEM product development and school innovation projects.
The person will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and documenting electronics and embedded systems for Robotics Kits and STEM Kits, while also supporting students and schools in developing advanced working prototypes and innovation projects.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building things from scratch, debugging hardware and software, experimenting with electronics and converting ideas into working prototypes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Robotics & STEM Kit Development
Design and develop new robotics kits, STEM kits and electronics-based learning products.
Develop embedded systems using platforms such as Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi and similar microcontrollers.
Design circuits involving sensors, motors, LEDs, displays, communication modules and actuators.
Develop and test firmware for robotics and STEM applications.
Integrate hardware, electronics and software into reliable working prototypes.
Improve existing ABL robotics and STEM kits for functionality, usability and learning outcomes.
Create reusable modules that can be used across multiple STEM projects and kits.
Support prototyping, testing and small-scale product production.
2. Embedded Programming & Electronics
Write, test and debug embedded C/C++ code.
Work with GPIO, PWM, ADC, UART, I2C, SPI and other common communication protocols.
Interface microcontrollers with different sensors and actuators.
Develop motor-control systems including DC motors, servo motors and stepper motors.
Work with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and IoT-enabled devices.
Troubleshoot hardware and firmware issues through systematic debugging.
Prepare circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
3. Advanced Innovation Projects in Schools
Support ABL Innovation Coaches and school teams in developing advanced STEM, robotics, IoT and embedded-system projects.
Convert student ideas into technically feasible prototypes.
Help students understand electronics, sensors, controllers, motors and embedded programming.
Provide technical mentoring for projects participating in innovation competitions and exhibitions.
Visit schools when required to support high-value or technically complex innovation projects.
Develop proof-of-concepts and prototypes for challenging real-world problems.
Help students move projects from idea → prototype → testing → improvement → final working model.
4. R&D and Product Innovation
Research new technologies, components, sensors and development platforms relevant to STEM education.
Explore emerging areas such as:
IoT
Robotics
AI-enabled devices
Computer vision
Automation
Wireless communication
Smart sensors
Edge computing
Evaluate new components and technologies for integration into ABL products and programmers.
Build rapid prototypes to test new product ideas.
