Eaton’s Power Components Division is currently seeking an Electronics Hardware Specialist. This is a hybrid position (3 days on-site, 2 days remote per week) based at our Moon Township, (Pittsburgh) PA location. Relocation assistance will be provided to candidates currently residing within the US/PR.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $113000 - $165000 a year.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will play a key role in the design and development of Eaton's Circuit Breaker Electronics within the Power Components Division. Responsibilities include new product development, maintaining third-party certifications, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, supporting the resolution of production and product quality issues, and addressing customer application needs. You will contribute to hardware engineering projects from concept through production launch, collaborate with contract manufacturers, and support production test development and execution. Depending on experience and demonstrated capability, you may take ownership of technical workstreams and provide guidance on Electronic Trip Unit product family development while working closely with product line marketing, manufacturing, quality, and customer teams.

Key Responsibilities

Product Development and Design: Contribute to the hardware design and development of circuit breaker electronics products. Design and develop analog and digital circuits, perform design analysis and testing, and support the development of products that meet performance, quality, and EMI/EMC requirements.
Product Requirements: Collaborate with marketing and cross-functional teams to develop product specifications based on customer and market needs. Develop expertise in circuit breaker electronics design, testing, and applications, while building knowledge of applicable regulatory standards including UL, CSA, IEC, and NEMA.
Project Execution: Support multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment. Coordinate activities with cross-functional teams, suppliers, contractors, and consultants to help ensure successful project execution and product delivery.
Product Support: Provide technical support for production and field issues, working closely with manufacturing, quality, and field service teams to investigate root causes and implement effective solutions. Contribute technical expertise to support continuous product improvement and customer satisfaction.
Technical Growth and Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and implement improvements in product development processes, engineering tools, and design methods. Participate in technical research, investigations, and problem-solving activities. Depending on experience and demonstrated capability, opportunities may exist to provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.

A solid understanding of EMI/EMC standards enables you to develop robust, regulatory-compliant solutions for the product development cycle. Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
Minimum 5 years of experience in new product development
Minimum 2 years of experience architecting, designing or developing embedded electronic products
Experience with analog and digital circuit design, testing, or troubleshooting.
Experience with EMI/EMC design practices.
Experience using Altium Designer or other schematic capture and PCB layout tools.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
Experience with hardware bring-up, debugging, signal characterization, and manufacturing support.
Experience investigating and resolving electronic hardware or system-level issues.
Experience with regulatory standards such as UL, CSA, IEC, or NEMA.
Experience with industrial electronics, protection systems, metering, controls, embedded systems, power electronics, or related technologies.
