Work closely with R&D project team members to develop hardware prototypes from the ground up. As an Engineering R&D consulting company, Creare has a broad spectrum of challenging projects to develop cutting-edge electronic devices and equipment for biomedical, energy, advanced battery, high-voltage, military, and space applications.

We’re looking for a hands-on and detail-oriented Electronics Engineering Technician with a strong background in PCB design and layout to join our R&D team. In this role, you’ll work closely with engineers and other technicians to support the design, procurement, and testing of custom electronics for R&D and production applications.

Responsibilities:

Assist with the design and layout of printed circuit boards using industry-standard tools (e.g., OrCAD, Altium Designer, KiCad, or similar)
Support schematic capture and component selection in collaboration with engineers
Prepare documentation packages for fabrication and assembly, including Gerber files, BOMs, and assembly drawings
Assemble, test, and troubleshoot PCBs, wiring harnesses, and prototype systems
Rework and modify PCBs, including soldering surface-mount and through-hole components
Maintain accurate records of design revisions, build notes, and test results
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet functional and manufacturing requirements

Professional Requirements:

Associate’s degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or a related field
2+ years of experience with PCB design, layout, and documentation
Proficiency with at least one PCB CAD software tool (Altium or OrCAD Preferred)
Solid understanding of electronics fundamentals, circuit design, and signal-integrity principles
Skilled in soldering and rework, including fine-pitch surface-mount components
Comfortable working from schematics, drawings, and verbal instructions
Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and function generators
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Starting salary range of $30 - $40 per hour, based on level of education completed and years of relevant work experience.
