The Electrical Test & Validation Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the performance, reliability, safety, and compliance of Hyper Solutions' mission-critical power infrastructure products. This position is responsible for leading all product testing and validation activities across Hyper's portfolio, including new product development, UL certification, production testing, and manufacturing partner compliance.
The Electrical Test & Validation Manager will oversee the operation and continuous improvement of Hyper's Testing Lab at the Hyper Hub in Richmond, Virginia, while serving as the company's subject matter expert for electrical testing, validation methodologies, and certification readiness. This role partners closely with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and external manufacturing partners to ensure products consistently meet the rigorous standards required by data center customers and regulatory agencies.
Core Responsibilities
Test Engineering & Validation
Lead testing and validation programs across Hyper's product portfolio, including PDUs, RPPs, switchboards, and related power distribution equipment.
Develop and execute validation strategies supporting new product development, product enhancements, and sustaining engineering efforts.
Design, implement, and oversee electrical, functional, environmental, stress, and reliability testing programs.
Establish testing methodologies, acceptance criteria, documentation standards, and reporting processes.
Analyze test results, identify root causes of failures, and drive corrective actions with cross-functional teams.
Ensure products meet performance, reliability, and operational requirements for mission-critical data center environments.
Compliance & Certification
Lead UL certification efforts and support compliance with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Develop and maintain testing procedures that support certification readiness and ongoing compliance.
Serve as the primary technical resource for electrical testing standards, safety requirements, and product certification activities.
Monitor evolving industry regulations and standards to ensure continued compliance across the product portfolio.
Testing Lab Leadership
Manage the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Hyper's Testing Lab at the Hyper Hub.
Define lab processes, equipment requirements, calibration programs, and safety procedures.
Ensure laboratory operations comply with applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Develop strategies to expand testing capabilities as product offerings and customer requirements evolve.
Manufacturing Partner Oversight
Develop testing standards and validation requirements for global manufacturing partners.
Audit manufacturing partner testing processes, equipment, documentation, and compliance practices.
Drive corrective and preventive actions related to testing deficiencies or compliance concerns.
Ensure consistent testing execution and product quality across all manufacturing locations.
Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) & Quality Systems
Develop and maintain Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) procedures and documentation.
Support execution of FAT activities for customer projects and product releases.
Partner with Quality and Manufacturing teams to develop standard operating procedures and best practices.
Support internal audits, customer audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Lead and mentor Test Technicians, Validation Engineers, and other testing personnel as the team grows.
Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality teams throughout the product lifecycle.
Support product launches, manufacturing startup activities, commissioning efforts, and field issue resolution.
Travel to manufacturing partner facilities, customer sites, and testing locations as required.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
5+ years of experience in electrical testing, validation, compliance, quality engineering, or related technical roles.
Experience supporting UL certifications, electrical safety standards, and product validation programs.
Prior experience managing testing laboratories, compliance programs, or technical teams strongly preferred.
Experience within electrical power systems, critical infrastructure, industrial equipment, or data center environments preferred.
Technical Expertise
Strong understanding of electrical testing methodologies, product validation, and certification processes.
Working knowledge of UL standards, electrical safety requirements, and compliance frameworks.
Familiarity with power distribution equipment, switchgear, switchboards, PDUs, RPPs, or related electrical systems.
Experience with laboratory instrumentation, test equipment, data acquisition systems, and analysis tools.
Understanding of quality systems, root cause analysis, CAPA processes, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Leadership Competencies
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Ability to influence and collaborate across multiple functions and external partners.
Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.
Results-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail and accountability.

Compensation
The anticipated minimum starting salary range is $135,000 - $155,000 per year and up. Actual salary varies due to factors that may include, but not limited to relevant experience, skills, certifications, and location. This hire is eligible for a performance bonus or incentive compensation. Variable compensation may depend on various factors, such as individual and organizational performance.
