I’m hiring for an Electrical Power Systems Engineer — Federal Projects in Roanoke, VA.
This is a strong opportunity for a cleared Electrical Engineer with experience designing power distribution infrastructure for DoD, Federal, mission-critical, or secure facility projects.
Role focus:
You’ll support the design and delivery of electrical power systems across Federal and DoD projects, including medium- and low-voltage power distribution, grounding, lightning protection, controls sequences, power studies, site surveys, construction support, and technical design reviews.
Key responsibilities:
Lead or support electrical design for power distribution infrastructure
Design medium- and low-voltage power systems, grounding, and lightning protection
Develop controls sequences, schematics, and electrical specifications
Perform power system studies using SKM or similar tools
Create and review electrical plans using Revit or AutoCAD
Support site assessments, surveys, RFIs, shop drawing reviews, and construction administration
Interface directly with technical stakeholders and project teams
Provide technical guidance to junior engineers
Must have:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field
6+ years of electrical power system design experience
Active Secret or Top Secret clearance
US Citizenship
Licensed Professional Engineer / PE
Experience with Federal, DoD, mission-critical, or secure facility projects
Ability to work hybrid in/near Roanoke, VA
Valid driver’s license
Nice to have:
UFC / NEC / DoD design standards experience
SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower experience
Revit / AutoCAD experience
NAVFAC, USACE, data center, or mission-critical facilities background
Microgrid, spot network, commissioning, telecom, A/V, or electronic security design experience
Compensation: Up to $176K base, with relocation assistance available.
The ideal profile combines electrical power design + PE license + active clearance + Federal/DoD project experience.
