About the Us:
Vantari is a specialist recruitment consultancy connecting engineering and technology professionals with innovative organisations across the defence, aerospace and advanced technology sectors.
We are currently supporting an early-stage defence technology company developing advanced mission-critical systems for demanding operational environments.
About the Role:
We are looking for an Electrical Hardware Design Engineer to take ownership of complex electronic hardware across the complete development lifecycle.
You will design mixed-signal and high-speed circuit boards integrating processors, memory, communication interfaces, power electronics and sensor or actuator interfaces. Working within a highly hands-on engineering team, you will contribute from requirements and architecture through schematic design, PCB layout, board bring-up, qualification, system integration and production release.
Qualifications:
This role would suit a hands-on engineer who has successfully designed and delivered complex circuit boards from initial concept through testing and production.
You should be comfortable taking meaningful technical ownership and working within a fast-moving environment. Aerospace or defence experience is valuable but not essential; backgrounds in robotics, autonomous vehicles, automotive, medical devices or other complex hardware products are also relevant.
Requirements:
3+ years of professional electrical hardware design experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related discipline
Experience owning PCB or circuit-card development from schematic design through bring-up and validation
Strong mixed-signal and/or high-speed digital circuit-design experience
Experience with processors, FPGAs or microcontrollers, memory, communication interfaces, power electronics or sensors
Proficiency with Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, OrCAD or a comparable ECAD platform
Hands-on experience with board bring-up, laboratory testing, debugging and qualification
Experience collaborating with firmware, software, mechanical, systems and manufacturing teams
US citizenship or Green Card required, as visa sponsorship is not available
Benefits:
$150K–$200K base salary, with flexibility for exceptional candidates
Competitive equity
