What To Expect
As Electrical Engineer on the Lighting Systems and Mechatronics Engineering team, you will be responsible for overseeing all electrical aspects of our designs. At Tesla, you will work alongside the most creative and resourceful engineers in the world on a lean and agile team. From concept definition to production design release and launch, you will ensure that the latest technologies and industry-leading products are delivered for all global markets.
What You'll Do
Start-to-finish hardware definition and design support: Specification, architecture, design, simulation, schematic, layout supervision, manufacturing, bringup, and validation of circuit boards
Collaborate with PCB layout, firmware, mechanical, program management, and validation teams
Thoroughly document design requirements, calculations, validation results, etc.
Rapidly iterate as design requirements and product features mature over time
Support supplier launch activities and vet quality control systems
What You'll Bring
Minimum of 3 years of product engineering experience with at least 2 years or 1 product cycle
Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
Circuit board design experience with preference for Altium and basic programming ability with preference for Python
Strong understanding of analog and digital circuits including LEDs, MOSFETs, op-amps, switching regulators, gate drivers, microcontrollers, SPI, I2C, component selection, electrical motors, and power dissipation
Familiarity with communication protocols such as LIN, CAN, and 10BASE-T1S
Demonstrated technical aptitude, creativity in design, and ability to execute feasible solutions to complex engineering problems
Exceptional organization and communication skills in both written and verbal forms

Expected Compensation
$91,600 - $195,600/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
