Radar Reinvented.
Echodyne offers the world's first compact solid-state true beam-steering radar for a wide range of industries and applications. Our high-performance radars work in all weather and are designed for autonomous vehicles, uncrewed aircraft & drones, and security of borders, critical infrastructure, and smart cities. The company combines the patented technology of metamaterials with powerful software to create a radar sensor with unprecedented performance at commercial price points. Echodyne offers its radars to companies working in Automotive, Transportation, Critical Infrastructure Protection, Border Security, Smart Cities, Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS), and Airspace Management including Urban Air Mobility (UTM).
Echodyne is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to join our fast-growing team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will contribute to the maturation of Analog and Digital/Mixed-Signal (AMS) subsystems for advanced radar systems, ensuring technical excellence and strong cross-functional collaboration. You will design, verify, transition to manufacturing, and aid in supporting the long-term health of those designs.
You will lead and contribute to design-shaping discussions and technical reviews with multidisciplinary teams to develop robust radar architectures, resolve complex technical challenges, and align work with program objectives and Design for Excellence (DFX) principles.
You will provide technical expertise (while continuing to build your own) in AMS circuit design, simulation, and analysis to guide design execution, verification planning, and risk mitigation. Throughout the product lifecycle, you will contribute to root-cause investigations, trade studies, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance subsystem performance.
REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
Background in Analog & Mixed-Signal Circuit Design
Strong foundation in analog and mixed-signal circuit theory and hands-on experience developing high-reliability commercial or consumer products
Understanding of core analog and digital building blocks including operational amplifiers, logic gates, clock buffers, level shifters, power management ICs, current mirrors, charge pumps, oscillators, and voltage regulators
Understanding of low-speed signaling protocols (e.g. SPI, I2C, etc.)
Skilled in circuit design and simulation using tools such as Altium Designer (or equivalent) and SPICE-like tools
Understanding of the intricacies of component selection and layout optimization, balancing efficiency, thermal performance, and signal integrity
Practical experience applying principles of Design for Manufacturability, Assembly, and Test to improve product quality, testability and yield throughout the design lifecycle
Strong Testing & Verification Background
Hands-on experience in board bring-up, Acceptance Testing, and Design Verification of PCBs, ensuring seamless transitions from prototype to production
Skilled in debugging and troubleshooting circuits using oscilloscopes, function generators, logic analyzers, digital multimeters and other lab equipment
QUALIFICATIONS
BS Degree in Engineering, Material Science, or Physics
4 or more years' experience in design of printed circuit assemblies for mixed signal applications
Eligibility to handle export-controlled information (ITAR/EAR)
Echodyne's technology is export controlled by the U.S. Government and we must evaluate an applicant's eligibility to handle export-controlled information or obtain required Government authorizations. Therefore, we will ask you as part of the application process to identify whether you are a U.S. Citizen or green card holder, or have asylum/refugee status in the U.S.
WHAT WE OFFER
This is an exempt role.
The expected annual salary range for this role is
$115,000—$140,000 USD
If your skills generally align but not perfectly, please apply anyway. There may be another role that's a great fit for you!
We offer competitive compensation and benefits to our full-time, US-based employees, including:
RSU (Restricted Stock Units)
Generous Benefits:
Fully-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance premiums for you
