For our client, we are seeking a Electrical Engineer - Distribution Design to join the team of a leader in the Technical Services space. This role will lead operational priorities focused on execution quality, efficiency, safety, and measurable performance outcomes. You will collaborate with field leadership, support functions, and cross-functional stakeholders to improve accountability, service delivery, and operational consistency. The position offers the opportunity to influence operational scale, customer outcomes, and organizational performance within a Technical Services environment.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $147,000 – $175,000 annually
Responsibilities
Lead design of overhead and underground electrical distribution systems
Develop design packages for new lines and system expansions
Prepare construction drawings, material lists, and technical specifications
Perform system calculations including voltage drop and short-circuit analysis
Coordinate designs with transmission, substation, and civil teams
Serve as lead engineer for distribution design efforts
Support project managers in scope development and scheduling
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
Professional Engineer (PE) license required
Minimum 8 years of experience in electric distribution engineering
Experience with Investor-Owned Utilities (IOUs) or public utilities
Strong understanding of distribution system operations and utility standards
Proven ability to lead engineering tasks and collaborate across disciplines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
