Summary and Purpose:
Design the electronics related to smart circuit protection systems used in next-gen data centers and industrial circuit breakers. Focus on improving performance, reliability, and manufacturability, for integrated hardware and control for circuit protection. This collaborative engineering environment brings together expertise across electrical, firmware, and mechanical disciplines to deliver cutting-edge MEMS (Micro-Electro- Mechanical Systems) based circuit protection technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Design electronics to support MEMS products
Design verification via simulations and lab testing
PCB (Printed Circuit Board) layout, prototype testing, debugging, circuit assembly and design validation
Required Qualifications:
BS Electrical Engineering
3 years of industry experience
PCB schematic capture in Altium
PCB layout in Altium
LTspice simulations or similar tools
PCBA (PCB Assembly) testing experience
Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR regulations.
Required to work on-site in Albany, NY
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience designing drive circuits for solid state devices
Experience designing switch-mode power supplies
Experience with firmware development on micro-controller or FPGAs (Field Programmable Gate Arrays)
Use of CAD tools like Fusion360 or SolidWorks
Competencies:
Collaborate effectively within cross-functional technical team
Flexibility to adapt in a changing environment
Apply innovative, out-of-the-box thinking to circuit design challenges
Work with a strong sense of urgency while maintaining attention to detail.
Travel Requirements:
Domestic travel 25%
International travel 5%
Physical Requirements & Hazardous Exposure:
Approximately 60% of the work is performed at a computer, with the remaining time spent in a laboratory environment.
