Solidus is seeking a seeking an Electrical Engineer with experience in FPGA development or verification to join our growing team. In this role, you will design, develop, and verify FPGA solutions across major vendor platforms including Xilinx, Altera, and Microsemi. You will work closely with circuit card designers and systems engineers to translate system-level concepts into reliable, production-ready FPGA implementations supporting applications such as gigabit serial interfaces, RF/EO DSP, embedded processing, controls, and advanced data links.

Day In The Life

Design and deliver production-quality FPGA releases from initial proof of concept through final production
Architect FPGA-based systems including component selection, interface definitions, and Concept of Operations (CONOPS)
Translate system-level requirements into clear, actionable FPGA requirements
Develop reliable and maintainable VHDL code across various FPGA families and applications
Verify FPGA designs using self-checking methodologies, including both directed tests and constrained random testing
Track and analyze functional and code coverage to ensure thorough verification.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on requirements development, algorithm modeling, and architectural decisions
Support projects and drive execution to meet program schedules, technical goals, and cost targets
Create comprehensive design documentation including requirements, verification plans, and user guides
Participate in and support internal and external technical design reviews
Provide engineering support throughout integration, testing, and final product release
Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications & Experience

Active Secret clearance is required
Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, OR Master's degree with 0 years of relevant experience
Cultural fit amongst a collaborative team environment
Experience in FPGA development or verification involving Xilinx, Altera, or Microsemi devices
Proficiency in VHDL coding, simulation, and FPGA design methodologies
Experience with gigabit serial interfaces, RF/EO DSP applications, data links, controls, or embedded processing
Understanding of verification techniques, including directed and constrained random testing
Ability to read, interpret, and translate system-level requirements into detailed FPGA requirements
Familiarity with coverage metrics and verification best practices
Ability to work effectively in cross-functional engineering teams
Strong documentation skills and experience with configuration management processes
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to contribute to schedule and technical planning
