A fast-growing early-stage medical device company is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to support the development and commercialization of next-generation wearable sensing technology. The core product is an ultra-miniature, battery-powered sensing platform designed for continuous health monitoring applications.
The ideal candidate is excited by highly technical startup environments and enjoys owning electrical design efforts from concept through production in close collaboration with firmware, product, and manufacturing teams.
What You Will Do
Lead electrical system architecture and power management design for low-power sensing devices
Create electrical schematics and PCB layouts for R&D, product, and validation hardware
Define and execute verification and validation plans at both PCB and device level
Collaborate with Quality teams to ensure compliant hardware development and documentation processes
Support small-scale manufacturing efforts and transition products to external manufacturing partners
Work closely with firmware and software engineers on production-ready embedded systems
Manage component vendor and manufacturing partner relationships
Contribute to technical strategy and long-term product development planning
Own electrical engineering schedules, timelines, and execution across fast-paced development cycles
Coordinate with external technical specialists and contractors when needed
Core Competencies
3+ years of electrical engineering experience supporting consumer electronics, wearables, IoT, or medical devices through production
Experience leading full EE design cycles from concept through manufacturing
Strong experience with high-density PCB development, layout, testing, and validation
Expertise with low-power electronics, electrical test equipment, and hardware validation methods
Experience working within startup or small-team environments
Strong technical communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
B.S. or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
Preferred Experience
Battery-powered embedded devices
Sensor systems or wearable technologies
Medical device or regulated hardware development
Embedded systems collaboration with firmware/software teams
Manufacturing process development and production support
PCB design tools such as Altium
Startup environments with rapid iteration cycles
