Position Summary

The NVH (Noise, Vibration & Harshness) Division is seeking an entry level Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be self-motivated and be eager to learn in a fast-paced, demanding high-tech environment. This position is in Cary, NC with 4 days onsite and 1 day work from home schedule.

This position supports the development of electromechanical sensing and actuation systems in the following areas: active noise and vibration control, tactile feedback / steer-by-wire, and drive shaft torque sensing. The Electrical Engineering team works closely with the Systems and Software Engineering teams to develop, qualify, and certify these technologies as products for customers in aerospace and industrial markets.

Responsibilities

Perform design assurance activities as part of the development of aerospace electronic hardware
Assist in electronic hardware requirements development, validation, and verification
Update electronics designs using schematic capture tools
Analyze electrical circuits using electronics simulation tools
Participate in component layout reviews applying DFM (Design for Manufacturability) best practices
Perform design verification tests on printed circuit board assemblies
Participate in the execution and documentation of EMI/EMC and environmental qualification tests
Work with senior engineers and technicians to support execution of project objectives
Maintain clear communication with project leadership to ensure efficient workflow
Support internal and external programs through laboratory testing of development and production hardware
Use standard laboratory equipment and recommend new equipment as needed

Qualifications

Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field
Basic proficiency with digital and analog electrical circuit design and analysis
Basic proficiency with OrCAD or Altium schematic capture, Cadence Allegro, OrCAD, and PSpice tools
Ability to develop electronic hardware requirements
Experience with board‑level debugging using standard lab equipment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and cultivate strong working relationships
U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident

Preferred

Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field
1-2 years of experience in an electrical design role
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Strong technical writing ability
Familiarity with electronic hardware certification requirements such as DO-254 and/or IEC 61508
Familiarity with Design for X principles (Cost, Manufacturing, Reliability, etc.)
Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, or LabVIEW
Ability to plan, manage tasks, and work independently
