About the Company
A growing technology company has developed innovative software and hardware that enable ultra-low-latency, low-power wireless video streaming from wearable and embedded devices. The organization is working with major enterprises and government customers to commercialize its technology at scale.
The Role
We are seeking a hands-on Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and optimize electronics for an advanced hardware ecosystem. This position also involves managing engineering projects using both internal and outsourced resources. The Electrical Engineer will collaborate with product management, software, sales, and operations teams to bring new devices from concept through production.
Responsibilities
Perform hands-on engineering work while coordinating internal contributors and managing outsourced resources.
Design, test, and validate electrical systems for hardware products, including cameras, sensor hubs, and data-transmission modules.
Develop and review PCB schematics and layouts.
Partner with firmware and software engineers to integrate hardware functionality and ensure system reliability.
Rapidly prototype and refine designs through laboratory and field testing.
Collaborate with manufacturing partners to transition designs from prototype to production.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues throughout development and deployment.
Improve the performance, efficiency, and scalability of existing designs.
Contribute to product strategy by recommending performance improvements, new features, and opportunities for expansion into new markets.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
At least five years of experience in electronic design and testing, preferably within a startup or product-focused environment.
Strong understanding of circuit design, analog and digital systems, and power management.
Experience with PCB design tools such as Altium or comparable platforms.
Familiarity with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and firmware integration.
Thorough knowledge of engineering processes and best practices, including version control, drawing reviews, and bill-of-materials management.
Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers.
Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Experience managing or playing a significant role in complex engineering projects.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with wireless communication technologies, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Low Energy, cellular, or RF.
Knowledge of video systems, sensors, or high-speed data interfaces.
Familiarity with digital and analog signal processing.
Exposure to environmental or ruggedized hardware design.
Experience taking new products from prototype through scaled production.
