Electrical Design Engineer – (PCB Layout, Power Electronics & Embedded Systems)
At a glance
Experience: 4+ years with degree — 10+ years considered without
Compensation: Up to $100,000 — commensurate with experience
Travel: ~20 days per year (domestic)
Location: Greater Milwaukee / Northeast Wisconsin corridor — onsite

Why this opportunity is worth a conversation
This is a small, privately held manufacturer experiencing steady year-over-year growth, designing and producing highly engineered electronic products used in demanding applications. The environment offers strong exposure to real engineering challenges without the layers of a large organization.
Engineers here work across the full product lifecycle — from concept and PCB layout through prototype, testing, and production. You’ll have direct visibility to leadership, the ability to influence design decisions, and the opportunity to work on multiple projects simultaneously rather than being siloed into one narrow function.
If you enjoy hands-on design work, variety in projects, and an environment where your contributions are visible and impactful, this is worth exploring.
What You Will Be Doing
Designing and laying out PCBs from concept through production release
Developing power supply designs (analog and mixed-signal)
Creating electrical schematics, specifications, and BOMs
Supporting prototype builds, testing, and manufacturing startup
Contributing to technical documentation and project deliverables
Performing reliability analysis and supporting quality processes
Managing multiple concurrent projects and priorities
What We Are Looking For
Hands-on PCB layout and circuit design experience (core requirement)
Experience with power supply design (analog and/or mixed-signal)
Ability to read and create electrical schematics and documentation
Experience working in a regulated or quality-driven manufacturing environment
Strong organizational and multitasking ability
Self-directed, able to operate independently
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
10+ years of relevant experience considered in lieu of degree
Strong Pluses (not Required)
Simulation tools (PSpice or similar)
Mechanical integration exposure (SolidWorks or similar)
Embedded or firmware familiarity
Experience in highly regulated or performance-critical industries
Please apply on Indeed or at impactsolutions.com/opportunities where you can see and apply for any of our open positions.
