If you are passionate about cutting-edge technologies and have a strong background in the design of controls for new machines and induction power supplies, we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
As an Electrical Engineer/Designer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and optimization of induction power supply systems. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to ensure the successful implementation of induction technologies in our products.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Design and Development:
Conceptualize, design, and develop induction power supply systems based on project requirements.
Conduct feasibility studies and simulations to optimize system performance and efficiency.
Electromagnetics and Power Circuitry:
Apply expertise in electromagnetics and electricity mechanics to design controls for new machines and induction power supplies.
Work on power circuitry with a focus on voltage source and current source resonant frequency inverters.
Micro-controllers and Circuit Design:
Utilize embedded micro-controllers, frequency, and pulse width controls using mixed analog and digital techniques.
Conduct PCB design and circuit simulation to optimize system performance.
Semiconductor Devices and System Integration:
Work with medium to large module size semiconductor devices such as SCRs, Diodes, Mosfets, and IGBTs. Calculate losses, appropriate snubber circuits, and water/convection cooling requirements for such devices.
Design and specify electrical systems, drives, I/O, etc., for moving and orienting parts in our Induction Heating Systems.
Control System Design and Configuration:
Design, specify, test, and configure control systems, including enclosures, transformers, fuses, disconnects, relays, PLCs, HMIs, computers, servo drives, sensors, pneumatics, valves, pumps, etc.
Develop new control systems for custom and new products which meet or exceed UL508A standards.
Testing and Validation:
Implement testing protocols to validate the performance and reliability of induction power supply systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues identified during testing phases to the component level.
Collaboration:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and product designers, to design induction power supply systems.
Provide technical expertise and guidance during the product development lifecycle.
Research and Innovation:
Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in induction power supply technology.
Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance the performance and efficiency of induction systems.
Quality Assurance:
Collaborate with quality assurance teams to establish and maintain high-quality standards for induction power supply systems.
Participate in design reviews and provide input to ensure product reliability.
Documentation and Project Management:
Detail part drawings, process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and create Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Work independently with minimal supervision to complete projects on time and within budget.
Create detailed documentation, including schematics, design specifications, and test reports.
Ensure that all design and development activities comply with industry standards and regulations.
Collaborate with sales to give estimates as to material costs for future orders so that sales may quote them.
Field Service and Problem Solving
Resolve any problems encountered in the fabrication and construction of machines.
Help start-up systems in the field.
Go to customers to solve equipment issues.
Education & Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Emphasis on power electrics a plus.
AutoCAD Electrical or similar experience is essential.
Familiarity with standards such as CSA, CE, UL, ANSI, NEC, ASME, NFPA70 etc.
Proven experience in the design and development of induction power supply systems and their controls to the component level.
