Job Title: Electrical Control Panel Design & Engineering
Job purpose: The purpose and objective of this role is to strengthen the Electrical Control Panel Design & Engineering team with the aim of having in-house know-how. The goal is to further expand the Control Panel business through timely and high-quality project documentation, specification reviews for quotation, design and draft electrical control schematics, panel layouts, standardization, create bill of material in ERP & support for site trouble shooting. Close co-ordination with Vendors & Customers through quick responses to technical queries or comments as well as interdepartmental co-ordination and communication with different teams of Sales/Tendering, Purchase, Quality, Project Documentation, Operations, PD & ORE is essential. Maintain a regular contact with USA/European factory teams, including potential travel, to understand the product, overall processes, gather & compile the know-how, successful execution/implementation of the project and facilitate the localization.
Main accountabilities and tasks
• Support to Sales/Tendering team for review of electrical tender specifications & help for proper estimations
• Standardization towards Electrical Schematic Drawings, PLC and OIT Programming, Automation, ERP Visual upload etc. Investigate feasibility of alternate components and facilitate the localization initiatives.
• Review of Customer Project requirements, Participation in the Project Kick Off Meetings, Co-ordination & active communication with Sales, Tendering, QA, Purchase, Operations, Consulting engineers, Project Management teams to review & close the open points (if any).
• Develop drawings/documents for electrical motor control parts, associated assemblies, circuit diagrams, layout drawings/schematics, cable list, control philosophy, low-voltage switchgear & power distribution design, pneumatic control systems & cabinets, Instrument data sheets, wiring diagram in CAD for sales packages, quotations & order against submissions.
• Creates Bill of Materials (BOM) in applicable ERP system, prepare and releases Change Orders.
• Review of supplier quotations & approvals for manufacturing • Share drawings and component data sheets to Technical Documentation Coordinator and Technical Writers for submittals and O&M Manuals.
• Assist electrical/pneumatic control system productions & manufacturing, site commissioning & trouble shooting with problem solving regarding design, order specifications, and components.
• Maintain regular contact with allocated teams from USA & Europe.
• Actively participate in internal and external project meetings, productivity enhancement activities like Lean, 5S, Kaizens, Automation etc.
Desired experience and qualifications:
Work experience: 5-8 years
Expertise (e.g. professional, technical): Experience in Autodesk Electrical, ERP Systems, Understanding of Wastewater treatment processes, knowledge of NEC electrical codes & ASME Y 14.5M GD&T standard, proficient with Microsoft tools.
Education: Level: Bachelor Subject: Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering Certifications: yes Soft skills: Customer-centric, cooperative, excellent oral & written English communication
