Early Career Project Engineer (job description)
We have partnered with a Global Tier 1 Automotive Manufacturer in Northwest OH to lead a search for their Early Career Project Engineer.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering (or related field such as Automotive Engineering) from a four-year college or university.
1-5 years experience in engineering in an Automotive manufacturing environment
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Project Management of multiple projects using APQP methodology.
Schedule and lead APQP meetings internally with cross functional teams.
Customer contact: Designer, Product Design Engineer, Mating Component(s) Engineer(s), Test Engineers, Engineering Supervisors.
Establish customer requirements/expectations: Interchangeability, service requirements, performance requirements, weight requirements, and homologation requirements.
Establish part parameters: Oscillation (kinematic requirements), road load (dynamic requirements), and orientation (static requirements).
Weight analysis - solid modeling (NX, or Inventor).
Stress analysis - classical/ FEA (Linear Static, Nonlinear, and Fatigue) (Inventor).
Oversee, apply, or approve appropriate GD&T as needed to 2D drawings.
Oversee and approve 2D drawings and 3D models in appropriate customer CAD system
Develop 3D solid models (Inventor).
Develop 2D assembly drawings (AutoCAD, or Inventor).
Develop 2D detail drawings (AutoCAD, or Inventor).
