Role Description
The ideal Draftsman candidate will have strong SolidWorks skills and a solid understanding of GD&T. The role will involve working on diverse projects across industries such as aerospace, Oil & Gas, and HVAC to generate custom designs and solutions.
This is a full-time, on-site Draftsman role located in Kilgore, TX.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing conceptual and schematic AutoCAD 3D models and drawings based on design briefs and sketches
Translate design concepts into basic layouts, plans, and 2D drawings
Maintain drawing standards and file organization
Help prepare drawings and 3D models for presentations and client reviews
Ensure drawings comply with industry standards and regulations
Maintain organized drawing files and documentation
Create detailed part and assembly drawings
Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Develop Work Orders for technician team to fulfill orders and preassemble subcomponents or entire systems
Work closely with engineering on design improvements
Ensure manufacturability and adherence to tolerances (some quality control verification on manufactured parts)
Update drawings for revisions and production changes
Create documentation to assist in the packaging, installation, and operation of the product
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree or higher, certification in Drafting, Design, Engineering, or 4 years of related experience
Proficiency in SolidWorks software
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to read and interpret technical documents
Good communication and teamwork skills
Familiarity with various measuring instrumentation
Knowledge of machining, fabrication, and materials (preferred)
2+ years drafting experience (preferred)
Basic 2D CAD knowledge (AutoCAD or similar)
Willingness to learn and take direction
— Compensation Based on Specific Qualifications —
Schedule: 8-hour shift x 5 days a week.
