Role Description
We are seeking a full-time Drafter to join our team in Sugar Land, TX. As a Drafter, you will create detailed technical drawings and schematics, collaborate with engineers and designers to ensure accuracy, and maintain project documentation. Responsibilities also include revising designs based on feedback, adhering to industry standards, and ensuring the quality of all drawings. This is an on-site role and requires active participation in team meetings and project evaluations.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Technical Drafting & Design
Develop, modify, and finalize detailed technical drawings and schematics for manufacturing projects using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
Convert conceptual designs into detailed technical drawings and 3D models.
Create and maintain design documentation, parts lists, and bill of materials (BOM) for production.
Ensure drawings meet engineering specifications, industry standards (e.g., ASME, ISO), and company requirements.
Assist in troubleshooting design or manufacturing issues and propose engineering solutions.

Collaboration and Communication
Work closely with engineering, production, and quality control teams to ensure feasible, manufacturable, and cost-efficient designs that meet specifications, standards, and safety regulations.
Participate in application engineering and project meetings to provide technical input and ensure alignment between design and manufacturing.
Communicate design modifications, project status, and challenges effectively with internal stakeholders.

Operational Compliance and Process Optimization
Follow Envent’s Business Process Operations System (BPOS) to maintain consistency and efficiency.
Review design concepts and revise drawings to identify opportunities for improvement in manufacturability, cost efficiency, and product quality.
Review design concepts and revise drawings to ensure compliance with changing industry standards, safety regulations, and internal company policies for product design and production.
Maintain version control and accurate documentation for all design files to ensure audit readiness.

Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
Proven experience in drafting and technical drawing in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Experience with 3D modeling and simulation software.
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent).
Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical design principles.
Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ASME, ISO) and technical specifications.
Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently.
Strong communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Ability to legally work in the USA.

Working conditions
Predominantly in an office environment with limited exposure to production floor conditions (e.g. machinery noise, dust), technical equipment, and machinery.
Majority of work performed on computers, using CAD software and engineering tools.

Physical Requirements
Ability to sit for extended periods while working on technical drawings.
May require standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs when engaging in manufacturing site visits.

$57,000 USD
