The Bison Finance Society (BFS) is Bucknell University’s premier finance organization, focused on preparing individuals for distinguished careers in investment banking, private equity, and other competitive finance sectors. Since its establishment in 2020, BFS has been equipping members with technical skills, industry insights, and professional connections through hands-on learning experiences and engagement with alumni. The organization regularly conducts educational sessions on key finance topics, including valuation, financial modeling, and market analysis, and showcases its annual Capstone Project. With over 500 active members, BFS bridges academic learning with practical, career-oriented finance experience.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position for a Senior Software Engineer, located in Fairfield, AL. The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software systems while ensuring alignment with technical and business objectives. Key responsibilities include coding, implementing back-end solutions, performing regular code reviews, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable software applications. The engineer will also troubleshoot, optimize code performance, mentor junior developers, and contribute to the overall technology strategy.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Computer Science, including knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and system design
Proficiency in Back-End Web Development and creating robust server-side solutions
Experience in Software Development with a focus on developing scalable and maintainable systems
Expertise in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting and mentor junior developers
Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Familiarity with cloud technologies, databases, and frameworks is a plus
