Digital Design Engineer - P4 - Cleared On-Site

Location: Tucson, Arizona

Employment Type: Contract

Role Overview

An opportunity is available for an Electrical Engineer with digital electronics design and analysis skills. This role involves collaboration and innovation within an engineering team to generate and utilize cutting-edge technology. The focus is on designing digital electronics circuits that implement missile guidance, video, and digital signal processing. The technology base includes high-speed digital electronics, configurable logic, and homogeneous/heterogeneous multiprocessor designs.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for the design, analysis, simulation, test, and integration of digital electronic modules and/or Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) for missile applications.
Engage in all aspects of circuit card design, including hardware designs with processors, FPGAs, memory, and industry interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, and UART.
Work within a collaborative team environment to achieve project goals.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. Degrees in Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering Technology will also be considered.

Experience: A minimum of 8 years of engineering digital circuit design experience, including at least two of the following areas: development and design of electronic circuit designs; ability to take a design concept from block diagram or requirements to a complete hardware design and verification; and experience with the PCB design process and tools for schematic capture, analysis, and simulation.

Security Clearance: Ability to obtain/maintain DOD interim Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Experience with embedded test techniques, design for test, design margin analysis, and design for production.
Experience using Mentor Graphics Design Creation (Siemens EDA) tools such as DxDesigner, xDX Designer VX, and Xilinx (Zynq Ultrascale, Vivado, Atrix).
Experience using PCB electronic circuit design software like HyperLynx for signal integrity, power integrity, and analog simulation, and Xpedition Enterprise (xPCB).
Experience with complex circuit card assemblies between 16 and 32 layers.
Familiarity with Constraint Editor System (CES).
Knowledge of software and/or FPGA code development.
Experience leading a program transition from development to production.
Demonstrated ability to manage technical and schedule risks and to identify cost reduction opportunities.
Knowledgeable in cost/schedule development and management.
Experience in managing schedules and resources to meet assigned milestones.
Capable of functioning in multi-disciplined design teams across multiple projects.

Compensation

The pay rate for this position is between $98.00 and $108.00 per hour.
