Job Family Description

Engineering Support roles encompass a diverse range of positions that provide technical assistance and expertise to engineering teams across various disciplines. These roles may involve tasks such as conducting research, performing analyses, and assisting in the design and development of engineering projects. Engineering support professionals work closely with engineers and other stakeholders to ensure projects meet quality standards, deadlines, and budgetary constraints.

Discipline Description

Engineering Support personnel provide diverse support essential to completion of Engineering work processes and operations in areas including program management, risk and cost savings process, staffing and forecasting, training, indirect budget management, subcontract support oversight, engineering documents processing, procedure and desktop development, and performance of assessments. This support requires proficiency and use of engineering and professional software systems that interface with these processes. interface with varying level of Engineering and interface organizations in performance of duties is routinely required.

Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include

Monitor and track subcontract invoices to ensure timely and accurate payments, as well as support financial forecasting and accruals.
Maintain precise records of various project components throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.
Coordinate activities for subcontractor and visitor access to SRS, including site access, Computer Accounts Only (CAO), visitor badges, and security and access clearances.
Maintain strong working relationships with project stakeholders, track key progress of deliverables, and assist in identifying and removing obstacles to ensure deadlines are met.
Coordinate and process engineering deliverables to Document Control or Records Management.
Coordinate and maintain project vacation calendars.
Schedule Monthly Safety Meetings.
Coordinate Project Meetings.
Knowledge and understanding of engineering documents, E7 procedures, and 3E Procurement procedures.
Experience with SRNS programs such as SmartPlant Foundation (SPF), Electronic Document Workflow System (EDWS), Engineering Plant & Facilities Management(EPFM) FileMaker Pro, Proteus, and PeopleSoft.
Knowledge and experience in engineering document control is preferable.
Knowledge and understanding of records management procedures and practices, as well as policies and administrative project procedures.
Proficiency with general office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and Filemaker Pro.
Ability to build and maintain professional relationships, with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Demonstrated balance of technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and leadership skills to enhance performance, compliance, and continuous improvement within the organization.
Basic oral and written communication skills.

Required Qualifications

Associate's degree in relevant field plus completion of applicable certification or on-the-job training, OR High school diploma plus completion of applicable certification or on-the-job training plus at least one year of experience (YOE) in an applicable role
Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance.
