On behalf of our client, a leading engineering consulting firm, we are seeking several Design Engineers proficient in Revit to design electrical or mechanical systems across a broad range of facilities that include fortune 100/500 and/or public sector institutions (higher education, data centers, healthcare, lab spaces & biotech, correctional facilities).
The position is located in Seattle, WA with with occasional travel to client sites. Relocation assistance provided.
Key priorities:
Utilize Revit software to create detailed designs for electrical and mechanical systems.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate solutions seamlessly within the overall building design.
Engage with clients in the high-tech, education, retail, and civic sectors to understand their specific requirements, preferences, and constraints, and translate them into innovative design solutions.
Take ownership of projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and effective communication with project stakeholders. Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to achieve project goals.
Stay abreast of industry trends, codes, and standards related to electrical and mechanical design, and ensure all designs meet or exceed regulatory requirements.
Conduct thorough reviews of design documentation to guarantee accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications.
Maintain a high level of technical proficiency in electrical and mechanical systems, including emerging technologies, to provide clients with state-of-the-art solutions.
Experience & Competencies:
Minimum 4 years proven experience in electrical and/or mechanical system design using Revit.
Basic understanding of construction delivery methods (Design build, Design bid build, negotiated contract)
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
Experience in at least one building type, i.e., Education, Retail, Commercial TI, etc.
Excellent organizational and communications skills
Basic understanding of cost opinions, specifications, calculations, etc.
Self-motivated and driven to learn
Skills & talents:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to clearly and concisely present information in one-on-one and small group situations and interact effectively at all levels and across diverse corporate cultures
General experience with various system types and manufacturers
General understanding of various technologies and emerging technologies and systems
Basic understanding of local and national codes
Highly competent with CAD, Revit and Bluebeam
