Role Description
This is a full-time, office role based in Gandhinagar for a Hydraulics Design Engineer specializing in Water & Wastewater Projects. The Design Engineer – Water & Wastewater will be a core member of Anvaya's Water & Wastewater Business Unit, responsible for the hydraulic design, technical analysis and engineering documentation of
water supply, sewerage, storm-water and wastewater treatment infrastructure projects. The incumbent will be expected to independently handle design assignments from concept through to DPR-grade deliverables, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, client specifications and Anvaya's internal quality standards, while coordinating effectively across multidisciplinary project teams.

Key Responsibilities
Design & Engineering
▪ Carry out hydraulic design and analysis of water supply distribution networks, rising mains, gravity
sewers, storm-water drainage systems and pumping mains, including all associated design
calculations.
▪ Conduct head-loss analysis, pipe-sizing computations, pressure-zone delineation and system
balancing for water distribution and sewerage networks using industry-standard hydraulic simulation
software.
▪ Perform pump selection and specification, including duty-standby configuration, pump curve analysis,
NPSH assessment and pumping station layout design.
▪ Execute hydraulic design and process integration for Water Treatment Plants (WTPs), Sewage
Treatment Plants (STPs) and Effluent Treatment Plants (ETPs), including unit-wise hydraulic profiles
and outlet hydraulics.
▪ Prepare comprehensive design basis reports, hydraulic calculations, general arrangement (GA)
drawings, longitudinal sections and technical specifications forming part of DPR, feasibility report or
tender documentation.


Quality Assurance, Review & Coordination
▪ Ensure all design outputs comply with applicable standards including CPHEEO Manual, relevant IS
codes, IRC guidelines and project-specific client requirements.
▪ Review and technically validate drawings, hydraulic models and design calculations prepared by
junior engineers and CAD / drafting personnel.
▪ Coordinate with survey, geotechnical, structural, electrical and mechanical discipline teams to
achieve integrated and cost-optimised design solutions.
▪ Participate in internal and client design review meetings; respond to technical queries raised during
peer review, client review and statutory approval stages.


Project Support & Client Coordination
▪ Support pre-bid and tender preparation activities including preparation of BOQs, cost estimates,
technical proposals and design briefs for Water & Wastewater assignments.
▪ Provide design clarifications and technical support during project execution phases, including periodic
site visits for design verification and issue resolution.
▪ Liaise with government departments, development authorities and clients for design submissions,
review meetings and statutory approvals.
▪ Prepare technical reports, design presentations and management-level summaries as required for
internal and client review.
▪ Maintain version-controlled design records including calculation files, drawing registers, design basis
documents and correspondence logs in line with Anvaya's ISO-certified Quality Management System.
