Position Summary
As a Design Engineer on our team, you’ll help drive new product design and development from the initial idea all the way through to production, with a focus on sustainability, improving processes, and exploring new ideas through R&D. Winchester Hermetics is an extremely unique design and manufacturing company that works with cutting-edge technology for the most demanding high-cost-of-failure applications. Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor of Science engineering degree – manufacturing, mechanical, chemical, material science from an accredited college or university, achieving a 3.0+ GPA preferred
- Skills: Excellent knowledge of assembly design, materials, components, processes, and electrical/mechanical testing and regulatory approvals; excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, SolidWorks, Internet; excellent written/verbal communication skills
Are You Our Next ACE?
- Performs product design/development of new products to meet customer-funded programs and new product development projects in accordance with Hermetics engineering standards, systems, procedures, and policies
- Specifies designs and documents all materials, components, performance specifications, etc.
- Creates detailed drawings, procedures, and BOMs as needed to manufacture designs
- Documents and records all product data/design information using CAD and product data management/ERP system
- Identifies and/or specifies the sequence of production steps and special equipment/tooling requirements, test requirements, test plans/procedures, and special test equipment, sources for new materials, processes, and/or equipment
- Reviews and provides technical content of proposal/quote response (i.e., specification reviews, design concept drawings, performance limits, etc.) to applications and sales teams, pre-award
- Actively participate on behalf of the Engineering team both internally and externally on NPI projects, Quoting, Contract Review, Process Specifications, Design Release, MRB, RMAs, CARs, production, and general customer inquiries
