About The Role

We are seeking experienced and senior-level Structural Design Engineers to join Boeing’s St. Louis team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and modifying structural and interior payload system designs for current and emerging aircraft programs. Utilizing advanced 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and other design methodologies, you will provide comprehensive product definitions to support engineering, production, suppliers, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle. These positions are integral to Boeing’s Air Dominance division within Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS), supporting a variety of locations including Berkeley, Hazelwood, St. Louis, St. Charles, and Mascoutah.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Material Sciences. For Level 3 positions, a minimum of five years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. For Level 4 roles, candidates should have at least nine years of relevant experience. Proficiency in using NX / Teamcenter and the ability to read 2-D drawings are essential. US citizenship and the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance are mandatory. Preferred qualifications include prior structural design experience on military or commercial aircraft and a demonstrated track record of successful project execution.

Responsibilities

As a Level 3 Structural Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include developing, integrating, and documenting structural and interior payload system requirements to establish robust system designs. You will perform, maintain, and modify designs using advanced CAD tools, ensuring accurate product definitions for various stakeholders. You will also analyze test results to validate that systems and components meet stringent requirements, manage supplier development, and coordinate testing and production activities to optimize design performance. Additionally, you will develop new design and analysis processes to enhance efficiency and quality, investigate emerging technologies for future product concepts, and work under general direction.

For Level 4 Engineers, responsibilities expand to leading performance, integration, and analysis of validation tests, managing supplier activities, and providing technical leadership in developing innovative design concepts. You will assist in investigating emerging technologies to shape future aircraft systems and work with minimal supervision to meet project objectives. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the integrity, safety, and performance of aerospace structures throughout the product lifecycle.
