Job Summary
Walker Process Equipment (WPE) is seeking a mid-level full-time Design Engineer/Drafter to support the Engineering team through the creation of layout, approval, and fabrication drawings for heavy mechanical and structural equipment. The ideal candidate will be technically oriented, detail-focused, and capable of working independently with moderate supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare layout, approval, and fabrication drawings using appropriate drafting standards and symbols
Create and maintain bills of material
Independently produce drawings using reference materials and moderate supervision
Occasionally provide guidance and instruction to lower-level drafters
Read and interpret construction and fabrication drawings accurately
Manage multiple assignments and priorities effectively
Qualifications
Minimum of four (4) years of drafting experience
Experience with heavy mechanical and structural equipment manufacturing preferred
Strong technical aptitude and attention to detail
Ability to fully understand construction and fabrication drawings
Experience with 2D CAD software; MicroStation preferred
4–8 years of 3D parametric modeling experience; SolidWorks preferred
Microsoft Dynamics GP experience is a plus
Strong multitasking and organizational skills
Demonstrated solid work ethic and reliability
Compensation
This exempt position offers an annual salary range of $68,900 to $94,400, depending on qualifications and experience.
