Build the hardware that works when nothing else can.
At Marlin Technologies, we design electronics that don't get the luxury of a controlled environment. Our products go into the field — rugged, real-world applications where reliability isn't optional. If you want your engineering to matter outside a lab, we want to talk to you.

We're a family-owned, close-knit company where you'll know everyone on the team — and we're hiring a Design Engineer to join our team, and we're open to candidates at multiple experience levels. Whether you're a few years into your career or ready to lead technical direction on new platforms, there's a seat here for you.

What You'll Actually Be Doing
This isn't a narrow, single-lane role. You'll be part of the full lifecycle of electronic product development — from a blank schematic to a product running in the field – with real world autonomy to drive design decisions along the way. Our product line spans a wide variety of industries and applications, so you’ll build broad experience rather than repeating the same narrow scope. On any given week, you might be:
Designing and analyzing circuits, running SPICE simulations, and capturing schematics
Laying out PCBs in Altium Designer
Writing and debugging embedded firmware in C/C++
Bringing hardware and firmware together into a working system
Chasing down signal issues with an oscilloscope in hand
Running EMI/EMC pre-compliance tests
Working elbow-to-elbow with mechanical, manufacturing, software, and documentation teams
Digging into CAN/LIN diagnostics with tools like Kvaser, PCAN, or CANalyzer
Sitting in design reviews where your input actually shapes the outcome
More senior engineers will take this further — architecting new projects, setting technical direction, mentoring the next wave of engineers, and becoming the person others turn to for embedded design questions.

What You Bring
We're looking for engineers who are curious, self-driven, and genuinely enjoy solving hard problems.
Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
Solid grasp of electronic circuits and systems
Proficiency in embedded C/C++
Clear communicator who manages their own time well
A mindset geared toward continuous learning
Nice to have:
PCB design/layout experience in Altium Designer
Familiarity with PCB assembly manufacturing processes
CAN/LIN communication systems experience
EMI/EMC testing exposure
2+ years of engineering experience (master’s degree is a plus for senior-level consideration)

Why Engineers Choose Marlin
Real, ruggedized products — not vaporware
A family-owned, close-knit culture where you're known by name, not employee number
A genuinely collaborative culture, not silos
Clear growth pathways within engineering
Competitive pay and benefits
Up to 25% travel for the engineers who want it
A company that takes quality, safety, and continuous improvement seriously

Let's Build Something That Lasts
If you want engineering work with real stakes — where your circuit board ends up in the field, not just a datasheet — we'd love to see your resume. Come grow your career with a team that treats hardware like it matters. Because here, it does.
