Design Engineer

Location: Ottumwa, IA

Duration: 12 months with possible extension

Key Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day design support and troubleshooting for a production line environment
Develop, review, and evaluate design solutions to enhance cost efficiency, quality, and product performance
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, supply chain, and suppliers, to implement design improvements
Define and interpret engineering specifications for routine issues and small to mid-scale projects
Review and analyze test plans to support product verification and validation of design changes

Required Skills

Ability to work flexible hours to support production needs, including occasional overtime
Experience using Creo or comparable CAD/design software
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Effective communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with product verification and validation processes
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems
Experience working with assembly line processes and related documentation
Knowledge of weld processes and associated documentation

Education

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field
Equivalent relevant work experience will also be considered
