SUMMARY
This role is a contract to hire position responsible for designing and developing customized components and systems based on specific project or customer requirements. The engineer will create and manage design documentation, support production or implementation, and ensure designs are functional, reliable, and cost-effective. This position requires strong technical knowledge, hands-on problem-solving, and collaboration with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop design solutions using CAD and other engineering tools
Create and maintain models, drawings, and engineering documentation
Generate and manage bills of materials and engineering change updates
Analyze technical data to support design decisions
Troubleshoot and resolve design and functionality issues during production or implementation
Conduct testing and validation to ensure performance and reliability
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to solve problems
Communicate technical information clearly across departments
Support and mentor team members as needed
Participate in continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives
Manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
0–3 years of relevant engineering experience or internship experience
Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar)
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Hands-on technical aptitude, including troubleshooting and use of basic tools
Experience with FEA is a plus
Resourceful, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement
Ability to work under deadlines with a strong sense of urgency
