Job Title: Design Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will develop innovative product designs based on defined customer requirements and explore new market applications. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, apply engineering principles, and ensure products meet performance specifications.
Responsibilities
Develop product designs based on defined customer requirements and new market opportunities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new business initiatives.
Conduct detailed analyses of components, welded structures, and assemblies to ensure compliance with performance specifications.
Research, evaluate, and recommend materials and manufacturing processes to enhance product performance and production efficiency.
Plan and oversee product testing activities when requirements are not otherwise defined.
Perform design-for-manufacturability reviews, manage bills of materials, and conduct cost assessments.
Provide engineering support to manufacturing, procurement, sales, marketing, and leadership teams.
Maintain accurate documentation of engineering designs, evaluations, reports, and related files.
Coordinate with production and operations teams to ensure timely completion of development projects.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Four or more years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in design software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or AutoCAD.
Experience with ERP management software.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Preferred experience in welding, sheet metal fabrication, hydraulics, or plastics molding.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Project management skills: ability to prioritize tasks, set goals, and develop actionable plans.
Creative problem-solving and strong analytical skills.
Effective communication skills.
Willingness to participate in hands-on activities within a manufacturing environment.
Work Environment
The role is based in a manufacturing environment, requiring in-person attendance. The position offers great pay, incredible benefits, and direct feedback from leadership in a family-run and operated business.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Sioux City, SD.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $57.00/hr.
