We are seeking a Design & Release Engineer with strong experience in Exterior Trim systems to support the development, validation, and release of exterior components for automotive vehicle programs. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting components through the full product development cycle, including launch support, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure quality, timing, cost, and performance targets are achieved.

Key Responsibilities
Support the design, development, and release of exterior trim components such as bumpers, grilles, claddings, appliques, moldings, and related systems.
Create and update 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
Collaborate with styling, manufacturing, validation, purchasing, and supplier teams to ensure design feasibility and program timing.
Assist in preparing and maintaining engineering documentation including DFMEA, DVP&R, engineering changes, and issue tracking.
Coordinate with suppliers regarding tooling, manufacturability, quality concerns, and design improvements.
Support prototype builds, validation activities, plant trials, and vehicle launches.
Support issue resolution activities during development and launch phases.
Ensure all components meet performance, durability, fit & finish, and regulatory requirements.
Track and process engineering changes through the appropriate release systems.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field (required).
5+ years of experience in automotive exterior trim or body component design and release.
Proven launch experience supporting vehicle programs from development through production.
Strong proficiency in CATIA V5, NX, and Teamcenter (or equivalent PLM systems).
Strong understanding of plastic injection molding, surface development, tooling, and GD&T. Experience with DFMEA, DVP&R, change management, and issue resolution processes.
Experience working with OEMs and/or Tier 1 automotive suppliers.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional automotive environment.
