Job Requirements
We are looking for a skilled Derating Engineer with strong expertise in power, analog, and digital electronics to ensure reliability and robustness of electronic designs through derating practices and analysis
Key Responsibilities
Perform component derating analysis as per applicable standards
Conduct Worst Case Circuit Analysis (WCCA)
Analyze electrical stresses (voltage, current, power, temperature)
Review schematics, PCB layouts, and system diagrams
Support component selection with appropriate derating margins
Perform simulations and reliability assessments
Participate in design reviews and identify risks
Conduct failure analysis and RCA
Support testing, validation, and troubleshooting
Work Experience
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of electronic components (Diodes, MOSFETs, capacitors, resistors, inductors, op-amps)
Good understanding of power, analog, and digital electronics
Expertise in derating analysis and reliability principles
Experience in WCCA
Ability to read schematics and PCB layouts
Hands-on Experience
Experience in testing and troubleshooting
Proficiency in lab equipment (Oscilloscope, Multimeter, Clamp meter, Load bank, Power supplies)
Preferred
Experience with simulation tools (SPICE, MATLAB)
Familiarity with derating standards (MIL-STD, ECSS, IEC)
Background in high-reliability industries
Knowledge of thermal analysis and reliability prediction
Experience
Typically 3–10 years in relevant domain
