Level: Consultant
Join Deloitte’s Cyber Practice as a SOC Level 2 Consultant, where you will be at the forefront of cybersecurity defense. Your role will involve monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security incidents, utilizing advanced security tools, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance our clients' security posture.
Work you'll do
As a Consultant on the Detect & Respond team, you will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security events and incidents in a 24x7 Security Operations Center environment.
Monitor security incident sources, alerts, dashboards, reports, inboxes, ticketing systems, calls, and chat channels to identify potential security incidents.
Perform triage and end-to-end event analysis using documented client and incident procedures to validate incidents and determine mitigation steps.
Escalate security incidents, implement or support countermeasures, and maintain accurate case notes and supporting documentation.
Analyze escalated alerts from Level 1 analysts, perform threat hunting, and conduct malware analysis to identify indicators of compromise and improve detection.
Develop and maintain procedures, runbooks, and operational reporting while supporting audit activities, service improvements, and shift coverage requirements.
The team
Deloitte’s Detect & Respond (D&R) aims to combine sophisticated technologies and human intelligence to help the clients monitor, detect, investigate, and respond to known and unknown attacks. We help our clients to be secure, vigilant, and resilient in the face of an ever-increasing array of cyber threats and vulnerabilities. The Detect and Respond team delivers service to clients through following key areas:
Threat detection and response
Attack surface management
Threat Intelligence
Threat Hunting
Data Protection
Location: Bengaluru / Hyderabad
Shift Timings: 24x7 rotational shifts; flexibility for night, weekend, and holiday coverage is essential; on-call support required based on project assignment
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Security, Engineering, Information Technology, or a similar technical field
3+ years of experience working in a Security Operations Center or security technology operations environment
Experience with security technologies such as Security Information and Event Management, Intrusion Detection System/Intrusion Prevention System, Data Loss Prevention, Proxy, Web Application Firewall, Endpoint Detection and Response, Anti-Virus, Sandboxing, firewalls, Threat Intelligence, or Penetration Testing
Knowledge of Advanced Persistent Threat tactics, techniques, and procedures
Understanding of attack activity such as network probing, scanning, distributed denial-of-service, and malicious code activity
Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTP, and of network devices such as routers and switches
Ability to work 24x7 rotational shifts, including night, weekend, and holiday coverage, with on-call support based on project assignment
Preferred:
GIAC Continuous Monitoring Certification, Certified Ethical Hacker, or equivalent certification
Experience performing threat hunting and advanced analysis of escalated alerts
Experience with malware analysis of executables, scripts, or documents
Experience creating or maintaining procedures, runbooks, or playbooks
Experience auditing security incidents or analyst case documentation
Experience supporting service level agreement tracking, shift handoffs, or operational reporting #Cyber_Cyber Operate
