Customer Applications Engineer
IC Resources is partnered with a global semiconductor company scaling its AI data center power business. They're hiring a Customer Applications Engineer in Austin to support digital multiphase power products used by the world's largest AI compute and cloud companies.
The role
You'll be a senior technical contributor within the power applications engineering team, owning customer facing validation and support for digital multiphase controllers, smart power stages and power modules powering CPUs and GPUs at data center scale.
Day to day you'll:
Validate and debug multiphase DC/DC designs, in the lab and at customer sites
Support customer board bring-up through evaluation and design phases
Work alongside IC design teams on validation of next generation controllers and power stages
Produce datasheets, application notes and performance reports
Help train the wider AE and FAE organization
Travel is periodic, not constant. Expect short blocks at customer sites during validation phases, typically a couple of weeks at a time, with remote support in between. US and Asia, roughly 15 to 20% overall.
What they're looking for
BS or MS in electrical engineering, ideally power electronincs
Strong grounding in DC/DC power conversion and control loop theory
Hands on lab skills: oscilloscopes, network analyzers, waveform generators, test automation
Experience powering large ASICs (CPU/GPU/SoC) in data center applications is ideal
Exposure to digital multiphase controllers and mixed signal systems is a plus
The hiring manager is genuinely flexible on background. If your fundamentals are strong and you haven't done the customer facing side yet, they'll teach it. Attitude and appetite to learn carry real weight here.
Why this role.
The product line is over ten years established, now on its fourth generation with two further generations already in planning. The business is growing on the back of AI data center demand, and the team is growing with it. Clear technical progression for the right person, with the chance to lead feature development within a few years.
Austin based, lab centered role with flexibility for focused work from home. Interview process is efficient: two initial conversations, then a single onsite day.
