The Creo Design Project Engineer is responsible for leading the mechanical design and development of custom, engineered-to-order generator systems. This role serves as the technical lead and design owner for customer-specific solutions, ensuring delivery of high-quality, cost-effective products that meet performance, manufacturability, and customer requirements.
Working in a project-driven environment, the Creo Design Project Engineer collaborates with cross-functional and global teams to translate customer needs into practical, manufacturable designs, supporting the full product lifecycle from concept through production.
Work Mode: Hybrid-3 days in office
Location: Mosel facility at N7650 County Rd LS, Sheboygan, WI, 53083
Key Responsibilities
Lead the mechanical design and CAD development of custom generator sets, enclosures, and related system components
Own and manage engineering projects from initial requirements through design release and production support
Develop and maintain detailed parametric models, assemblies, and engineering drawings using Creo
Provide technical leadership and guidance to CAD designers and support global engineering resources
Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Application Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing to ensure alignment and successful project execution
Translate customer requirements into engineered solutions that meet technical, cost, and delivery objectives
Ensure designs meet standards for performance, quality, and manufacturability
Evaluate materials, components, and design approaches to optimize product performance and cost
Identify technical risks and implement effective, data-driven solutions
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to engineering processes and custom product development
Participate in technical discussions with customers and global engineering teams as needed
Work Environment
Work Mode: Hybrid (3 days onsite)
Location: Sheboygan, WI
Travel: Limited, as required
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in Mechanical Design, Engineering Technology, or a related field with a minimum of 10 years of relevant product design experience; or
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience using Creo for 3D CAD modeling and design
Minimum of 2 years of experience designing industrial or engineered-to-order products
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in generator systems, power systems, or industrial equipment design
Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM) and fabrication processes
Experience working in a cross-functional, global engineering environment
Core Competencies
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Advanced CAD modeling and technical design capabilities
Effective communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional and global teams
Analytical problem-solving skills with a focus on practical, implementable solutions
Ability to take ownership and drive projects to completion with minimal supervision

The Salary range for this position is $83,300.00-$105,200.00.The specific Salary rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
