Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop and support real-time control systems and machine communication interfaces
Design and program PLCs, HMIs, and motion control systems for new and existing equipment
Create and maintain clear software documentation for internal teams, training, and customer use
Troubleshoot and resolve software issues during machine startup and customer acceptance (travel ~10–30%)
Partner with Electrical Engineering to define and integrate control hardware (drives, I/O, amplifiers, etc.)
Collaborate with vendors to support new technology development and resolve control-related issues
Manage project timelines and budgets for software deliverables, ensuring milestones are met
Participate in full lifecycle development—from concept and design through build, test, and launch
Drive standardization across systems while improving performance, reliability, and functionality
Support a safe working environment and follow all safety protocols
Education / Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
U.S. Citizenship required
Experience
5+ years of experience working with industrial machinery or automated equipment
Strong background in CNC controls or similar control systems
Experience with PLC/HMI programming and system integration
3–5 years of motion control programming (additive or subtractive manufacturing preferred)
Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize control systems in real-world environments
