Role Summary
Executes high‑quality 2D and 3D mechanical drawings for mud pump and slurry pump equipment used in mining applications
Translates approved mechanical designs into accurate, manufacturable drawings in accordance with HMH standards
Acts as a technical drafting specialist supporting mechanical engineers across product development and sustaining engineering
Ensures drawing quality, consistency, and configuration control across the product lifecycle
Collaborates closely with design, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams
Essential Functions
Create and maintain detailed 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D CAD models for pump components and assemblies using Creo and Autocad
Prepare GA drawings, assembly drawings, part drawings, and BOMs for release to manufacturing using Creo & Windchill
Apply GD&T, tolerances, fits, surface finish, and material specifications as defined by engineering standards
Update drawings based on engineering changes (ECNs), manufacturing feedback, and quality inputs
Ensure drawings comply with HMH drafting standards, industry standards, and applicable codes
Perform self‑checks and peer checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency
Maintain drawing revisions, metadata, and release status within Windchill systems
Support standardization and drawing template improvements
Basic Qualifications
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
3–5 years of experience in mechanical drafting or detailing for industrial or heavy equipment
Strong proficiency in 3D CAD and 2D drafting tools (SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, AutoCAD)
Solid understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and drafting practices
Experience preparing manufacturing‑ready drawings for machined, cast, and fabricated parts
Desired Qualifications
Experience with pumps, rotating equipment, mining equipment, or heavy industrial machinery
Familiarity with pump assemblies, shafts, housings, wear parts, and structural components
Working knowledge of ASME, ISO, DIN, or similar mechanical drafting standards
Experience with PLM systems (Teamcenter, Windchill, or equivalent)
Ability to work with global engineering teams and follow standardized workflows
Strong attention to detail, documentation discipline, and time management skills
Effective communication skills for cross‑functional coordination
